Kid Rock Releases Christian Album “Halfway 2 Jesus” With Eminem on “Heal My Faith”

Kid Rock Goes Gospel-Rock: “Halfway 2 Jesus” Is Out Now, With Eminem Alongside

Kid Rock has released Halfway 2 Jesus, a new Christian music album that arrived October 17. The 17-track project brings his familiar rock and country influences into explicitly faith-centered territory — themes of faith, redemption, and the struggles of the human experience — and it carries the most talked-about guest list of the week: Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Jimmie Allen, with Gary LeVox joining Jimmie Allen on the title track.

The title tells you the framing. This is presented as a journey, not a conversion certificate — halfway, still traveling. That framing shapes the whole record, and it is why the collaborations matter more than the genre label: the album was deliberately built with people who do not agree with each other.

The Song Everyone Is Talking About: “Heal My Faith”

The headline track is “Heal My Faith,” featuring Eminem. In the album’s foreword, Kid Rock wrote that he is proud of the guests who joined him, “especially my old friend Eminem,” adding: “His verse speaks to something we’ve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we’ve stayed friends through it all… We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently.”

Eminem’s verse works the same theme from his side. He opens by recalling Kid Rock as one of his earliest supporters — the Viper Room release party for The Slim Shady EP, where Kid Rock came to see a then-unknown Marshall Mathers perform — and lands on the line that has been quoted everywhere this weekend: “He is my brother, not my political enemy.” Kid Rock closes the track with a spoken-word outro making the friendship itself the message, and Eminem echoed it on social media on October 17: “Not about choosing sides, just choosing to make music with my old friend. Praying for all of us.”

However listeners land on the politics — and the two artists sit on opposite sides of it publicly — the collaboration is the story: a friendship that predates both men’s fame, put on record as an argument that disagreement does not have to end relationships.

A Room Built on Disagreement

That was the stated design for the whole album. In a social media video shared ahead of the release, Kid Rock said of everyone involved: “Not only the special guests — the musicians, the songwriters, the engineers, everybody involved in this record — we all don’t think the same. Plenty of us think differently. All different backgrounds, everything, different politics. We’re able to come together and make this beautiful body of work that I’m so proud of.”

The guest list backs that up. Alongside Eminem, the album features Lil Wayne and Jimmie Allen, and the title track pairs Allen with Gary LeVox. It is a country, rock, and hip-hop room assembled around gospel themes — an unusual coalition for a Christian album, and clearly an intentional one.

Where It Fits in Kid Rock’s Catalog

Kid Rock’s career has always moved between rock, country, and rap, so a faith record is less a left turn in sound than a left turn in subject. The rock and country influences are still the engine; what changes is the lyrical center. Redemption and struggle have run through his writing for years — here they are named directly, in Christian language, across a full 17-track album rather than a song or two.

For Christian music listeners, the release lands in a busy week — FishWorship’s October 17 roundup lists it as the headline album among new faith releases — and it will test how far a mainstream rock name can carry a gospel message to an audience that does not usually buy Christian albums. For Kid Rock’s existing audience, the Eminem track alone guarantees the album gets heard well beyond either genre’s usual borders.

Halfway 2 Jesus is out now. Start with “Heal My Faith” for the moment everyone is discussing, then the title track with Jimmie Allen and Gary LeVox for the album’s thesis in miniature — and judge for yourself whether the unlikely room holds together across 17 tracks.
